The Salvation Army- Emergency Backpack Kits

The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command has opened a new Anti- Human Trafficking Program.  The program will offer 24-hour emergency response, with a low barrier residential component that will include comprehensive services designed to bring restoration to women and men who have been exploited for sex or labor. Since we just opened we have a lot of current needs. 

Emergency Backpack List (all clothing items should be new and the same size per bag):

  • Sports Bra
  • Package of Underwear (no lace or thongs)
  • T-shirt (or tank top, no spaghetti straps)
  • Sweat pants or yoga pants (no leggings)
  • Zip up Hoodie or jacket
  • Flip flops or slippers
  • Lip balm
  • Travel sized toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, body lotion)
  • Fleece blanket
  • Journal and pen
  • Gift card to McDonalds

Optional Items:

  • Towel set
  • Pajama set
  • Coloring book and crayons (or colored pencils)
  • Small stuffed animal
  • Bottled water and snacks (granola bars, fruit snacks, etc.)

Please add a tag with the gender and clothing size to the outside of each bag.

Once your bags are prepared and ready for a survivor’s use, please drop off at the Salvation Army Arlington Corp located at 518 South Glebe Road Arlington, VA 22204       Monday- Friday 9am-4pm during business hours.
