Clothing, Home Goods & Groceries Needed for Homeless Individuals and Families

Several nonprofit organizations committed to assisting people experiencing homelessness in and around Arlington/Alexandria, VA, are in need of a variety of home goods, groceries, and other items to support their efforts.

Arlington Street People's Assistance Network (A-SPAN)

Arlington Street People's Assistance Network (A-SPAN), a nonprofit organization located in Arlington, VA, is in need of a variety of items to secure permanent housing and provide life-sustaining services for Arlington’s most vulnerable individuals through outreach and relationships built on trust and respect.

Please call ahead to (703) 228-7803 to arrange for the drop-off of any of the following items —

Groceries (cereals; citrus fruits)

Clothing (larger sized women’s wear; gently used or new larger sized bras; gloves; gel pack hand warmers; scarves; wool hats; larger sized sweat shirts; gently used or new shoes)

Carpenter's Shelter 

Carpenter's Shelter, a nonprofit organization located in Alexandria, VA, is in need of a variety of items to help support the homeless in achieving sustainable independence through shelter, guidance, education and advocacy.

The following items may be dropped off to 5701-D Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22304 from Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., or Saturday - Sunday, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. —

Clothing (new adult men and women's coats; new adult men and women's thermal long johns; new adult men and women's underwear)

Groceries (lunch meats; string cheese; individual yogurts)

Home goods (baby wipes; size 5 diapers; Vaseline; new hand and toe warmers)

Doorways for Women and Families

Doorways for Women and Families (https://www.doorwaysva.org/), a nonprofit organization located in Arlington, VA, is in need of a variety of items to help support its efforts to transform the lives of women, men, youth and children who are facing homelessness or suffering abuse in our community.
